With more than 19 years of experience as a professional artist and graphic designer, I’ve created brands and visual identities for a wide range of clients… but my heart has found its home in supporting small, local business owners: the makers, growers, and independent entrepreneurs building lives rooted in purpose, creativity, and resilience.
As a budding urban homesteader in Southern Alabama, my family and I began our journey with a desire to return to the essentials – growing food, building resilience, and living with greater intention. Along that path, I saw a growing need for thoughtful, mission-driven design – branding and marketing support that reflects the character, grit, and values of people doing meaningful work within their communities.
That calling led to Rising Reliance, a creative resource where design meets resilience, and where small businesses are equipped with the tools, clarity, and confidence they need to grow with purpose.

Our years working within local markets strengthened our respect for small-scale entrepreneurship, community connection, and the incredible power of purpose-driven work.
Rising Reliance was shaped by years spent inside the world of local markets. My husband, Jason, managed farmers markets throughout Los Angeles County, while I sold my artwork and prints as a vendor. Week after week, we stood beside people who were taking brave steps into possibility, testing ideas, sharing their craft, and slowly building something of their own.
We watched passion projects become steady sources of income. We saw families supported through handmade work and locally grown food. We watched shy creators gain confidence, customers become friends, and neighborhoods come alive with energy and purpose. Over time, the market stopped feeling like a place of transaction, and began to feel like a place of belonging.
Those experiences revealed something powerful: resilience grows locally. A single product made with care can become a livelihood, a modest booth can evolve into a thriving business, and grassroots enterprise can breathe new life into communities. In a world that is rapidly changing, local markets remind us what truly endures – human creativity, community-rooted opportunity, and the strength that grows when people build close to home.
